When the BBC on-line article appeared which damaged Chris' reputation, someone born in the Indian sub-continent contacted him to say how upset they had been about how the BBC has treated Chris - after all, everyone in India, Pakistan or Nepal knows that all one needs to know is who to bribe and how much to pay and permission for anything can be secured! Of course Chris has never paid a bribe - which may be one of the reasons he has been targeted!!
Another consideration is that it is virtually impossible to obtain reliable information from officials in the Indian sub-continent...... Journalists working for the BBC may have the 'eight' of that organisation behind it, which ensures officials actually reply to e-mails etc. Us mortals are not treated this way and are often completely ignored. And these officials know that NAVIN SINGH KHADKA, will blindly swallow every word they say, all too eager to present them in a favourable light - NOT the OBJECTIVE reporting expected....
Chris has been told, in person, during visits to the sub-continent, that if you are powerful and rich enough, you can literally, "get away with murder". This situation appears 'alive and well'. One source of seed from the Himalaya was an Indian politician, Madan Tamang (Navin Singh Khadka lied in his article which damaged Chris' name, that Chris had not provided any other names of those who sent him seed. Chris was sure that Madan had the necessary 'permissions', given who he was. Madan was subsequently "hacked to death". The political opponent behind the killing, surprise, surprise, has recently got off free (see: The wheel's of Indian justice certainly move slowly; Tamang was murdered 8 years ago, yet 7 years later, see: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/gjm-supremo-discharged-in-madan-tamang-murder-case/articleshow/60104456.cms) - tends only to be the underlings who are prosecuted....
